The future of exams: how to ensure we are prepared

Presenter: Kate Stokes, Systems and Data Quality Officer

Institution: University of Kent

Email: k.e.stokes@kent.ac.uk

Format: Seminar/Group Discussion : a session sharing experiences among participants, perhaps with a brief presentation at the start.

Abstract

This session aims to look at the future challenges we face when administering exams, ensuring that scheduling and exam related processes remain fit for purpose or even enable us to get ahead. We are interested to explore what the future may look like in terms of assessment and consider how we adapt our student records to ensure we are prepared. For example, will the future mean students complete their exams on their own laptop? What are the implications for us? Or are their alternative ways to manage exams entirely that we haven’t even thought about yet?

Audience

Student record officers with an involvement in examinations and assessment
