A day in the life of… BAME Ambassadors
Institution: University of Huddersfield Student Union
Hear from Huddersfield Students‘ Union’s BAME Ambassadors and how they’ve come together on campus to talk about race, diversify the curriculum and run campaigns. Topics they will talk about include: unconscious bias and anonymous marking, the posh white voice, the meaning of diversity and what they would like to see change on our campuses.
The BAME Ambassador Scheme has been in place since 2017, and see seen 100’s of students work on projects around mental health, diverse reading lists and inclusive curriculums. They’ve been recognised nationally; shortlisted for the Guardian Award 2019 as well as a What Uni Award.
