Centering the Student Voice at the University of Winchester

At Winchester we believe the student voice is the heartbeat of our university. More than feedback or surveys, it is a driving force that shapes how we design services, refine processes, and build a community where every student feels valued.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Sam Jones and Student Union President Alex Wilson, along with other panel guests, will discuss the Student Experience Collaborators Project, which places students at the centre of change. Working in partnership with staff, student collaborators bring fresh perspectives, challenge assumptions, and co-create solutions that make a real difference to daily university life. Their contributions have already sparked innovation, strengthened inclusivity, and ensured decisions reflect lived experiences.

Centering the student voice is about partnership, trust, and empowerment. It recognises students as active shapers of their journey, not passive recipients of education. Together, we are building a culture that is collaborative, responsive, and future-focused. This session celebrates the voices driving positive change and invites us to imagine what higher education can achieve when students are truly empowered.
