Preparing a University Access & Participation Plan (APP) is complex, requiring a deep understanding of institutional data and context to identify patterns and target resources effectively. 

This session explores how the University of Winchester navigated these challenges as an early adopter of the new APP approach. We will share how the institution leveraged key datasets despite limited resources, addressed risks to equality of opportunity under the new regulatory framework, and transitioned from isolated initiatives to a university-wide, holistic strategy. 

The session will also highlight ongoing work to embed monitoring and evaluation into practice, ensuring sustainable impact.
