Every student record matters. Accurate contact details are essential for timely communication, effective pastoral care, and student wellbeing. If phone numbers or emails are wrong, students can miss reminders, offers, certificates or even urgent welfare calls. Nearly 5% of contact data provided by students is incorrect at the point of entry, leaving universities exposed to risk at the very first stage of the student journey.
The impact is not only on wellbeing and communication but also on funding. Each student is worth tens of thousands of pounds, and errors can result in applications lost, enrolments missed, and compliance issues with HESA and UKVI. For a university with 20,000 students, manually correcting records could take up to 3,333 hours and cost more than £60,000 in staff time!
