Option to Resit: Passed Modules, Extenuating Circumstances, and Conferred Awards

Students who pass a module but have extenuating circumstances on one or more assessment elements have the right to resit those assessments under Option to Resit to improve their module mark. This poses several logistical challenges due to the tight timescales around transcript release, conferment of awards, and publication of the resit timetable. There are also administrative challenges in terms of how the student record is managed, as well as lack of engagement by students who then decide to resit at a late stage. This session looks at some of the ways we are tackling these issues.
